Orchestra stuff

9th of Oct  was my dearest roommates birthday . We are not able to help her celebrate because we have not enough time to plan her birthday prank . So we just gifted her a handmade cake do by Lawrance . On the same day as well , our third violin boss having the same day with my roommates . So during the rehearsal break , the conductor ask us to play a F major scale ,then later follow by is a birthday song in F major .Everything still goes on as usual , he totally didn't realize the birthday song is for himself until the we play until the end . Actually we plan this the night before , Ern Ee post the song to every of the instruments group . After playing  we sing the birthday song ,then Stephen come in with a cake . Everything we plan is perfectly done .  HI FIVE ! 

During today rehearsal , the conductor announced that me and my stand partner will be moving from third violin to second violin !! It is a happy and sad news for me . What pleased me is I am upgraded . The sad thing is violin 2 is not easy as well . Okay .. but it should be happy wert .

After orchestra , Natalie suddenly came in , she asked me weather going to KLPAC or not . I totally forget . I still wondering weather to go or not . I really not brave enough to go by myself , so I keep on pampering my violin partner to accompany me there . Finally she agree ! Another thing we are in trouble is we have to fit 2 cellos , 3 violin and 3people into a viva car . Luckily I am small in size . The three violin settle in the car boots , one cello is in front with me . Then the two of them with another cello at the back . It is so unbelievable that we can fit five instruments and three people into such a small car . 

The feeling of uneasiness start overcoming me as we walked towards the practice room . Because I really care how other look at me the first time . Because I am not major in violin , and my sight read is pretty poor . You should know when you first time join their orchestra , you have to sight read all the piece they are playing . The piece is not slow , some more a lots of running notes . My stand partner also quite blur . You tell me what should I do ? I am so helpless . I just follow whatever I can follow . 

 They have a short break . A 50+ lady walked towards me , asking me what is my grade . I tell her around grade 4 / 5 . She is like not welcoming us . She said you guys come in without audition . Okay.. we just playing one piece for the conductor on spot . After the conductor agree to let us stay , she have nothing to say wert ! Bloody NUT !!!!! 

10pm. They end the rehearsal . I am totally worn out . I am in orchestra for 4 hours today .

12 Nov 2016 - Hao Zhuang Diploma Convocation 0630 set off from my hometown . I sleep like a log all the way to KL . Around 0845 we reached . Meet so many of my friends at carpark . Went up to the ballroom to register . The places are crowded with people , can't see my friends . I not yet settle with my gown and morterboard . Washroom packed with arts dept girls .  We are called for briefing . I met Wendy so we went up together . Found our dept and finally  saw my friends . After briefing , we are called to line up and ready to go in the hall . Everything following the schedule , speech , national antheme and finally certificate giving out ceremony . When it comes to music dept , some people behind cheering so high . My lovely juniors . Love y'all ! After giving out certificate ceremony end , next come up with MIA mixed chorous performance . This time is our turn to cheer for them . After the whole ceremony end , I immediately meet up my friends . Its like can't wait ...

First gig

September . Has been freezing my blog for a couple of month . A quick update on August which I accomplished my diploma piano recital , Singapore competition and lastly Grade 7 violin exam successfully . Last month Eugene called me asking me weather can help out with his Erhu concert and I agreed , because I used to help him in the PP before .  Same member as before , only first violin we have a new member . They fixed the rehearsal in MIA every Monday and Friday , but I told Eugene I can only make it on Friday . So our first rehearsal went not bad . I'm happy for myself because I'm able to play the whole offbeat passage . It never happen before I decided to use it with metronome . See the power of metronome . So every Friday I travel until the performance day . The day before the performance we still have one last rehearsal which everyone promise to attend but cellist do not turn up so you can image everyone faces at that time . Seventeen of May

Second day of my "sem break" . My friend bought me to a cafe that I longed very very long time ago . The reason why I love this cafe is because it is outdoor and I was attracted by its greenery and decoration . Batik almost made up most of the decoration of the cafe . The moment when we walk in , I expect the surrounding to be quite spacious but it doesn't look like what I expect . Before I know this cafe I saw it in Instagram . Here are the expectation and reality , but it doesn't disappointed me anyway . So we went to the counter and order . The boss introduce us what's on their menu today . From the conversation , we only get to know she study arts in  MIA before .  Their breakfast looks attractive .
